I opened my Sous Vide box 2 nights ago, and tried to cook a steak. Epic Fail! I didn’t read enough or follow directions – the steak was tough. I am NOT giving up. Last night I decided to try boneless, skinless chicken breasts. I seasoned them with salt, pepper, Trader Joe’s ’21 Seasoning Solute’ and garlic powder. I bought 2 that were HUGE, probably 2″ thick. I set the Anova Sous Vide to 150 degrees for 2 hrs. My instructions indicated 1 hr for 1″ thick/2 hours for 2″ thick -> I think I’ll always follow that rule.
I had planned on making these chicken breasts for chopping, so there was no need to sear or broil when complete. They were amazing….and very moist!
